Cupcakes in Paradise.

There is quite possibly one of the cutest towns nestled in California's wine country that is home to one of the best places you could sink your teeth into a cupcake. Thats right, I said it, a cupcake.
Its called Moustache Baked Goods. www.moustachebakedgoods.com. Don't let the name throw you off. There is no sort of facial hair, or any hair for that matter anywhere near their delicious baked goods. They named it that because it is run by 2 twenty something guys (hipsters, adorable hipsters)
They make cupcakes that could take a punch. They are made in small batches which allows for much better baked goods and they use the bounty from the land around them to come up with their cupcake flavors and then they give them the cutest names that will immediately have you intrigued....
Such as, The Local, The Farmer, The Southern Miss, The Classic and my personal favorite, The Outlaw. I know it is just so typical of me to immediately be drawn to something called The Outlaw, but once you taste this bad boy, you'll understand why.
It's a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and caramel filled with sea salt.
Cupcakes that are made in small batches and made with some of the freshest ingredients available are cupcakes worth driving an hour or more for. And I did. I was staying in San Francisco when I made the beautiful drive to Healdsburg. And while it was really one of the most beautiful car drives I have ever been on, half way there, I began to wonder if this drive was worth it for some cupcakes? It sure as shit was. Each cupcake has such a distinct flavor, there are no guessing games, you know what you have in your mouth once you take a bite.
How many cupcake establishments can pride themselves on being a "farm to cake bakery"? Well Moustache can and it does.
So if you find yourself driving through Sonoma's wine country on your way to drink yourself silly or go eat at French Laundry, make a stop here and you'll understand why Sonoma has one more reason to brag for being so damn awesome.
