If I could be a donut...

I am lucky enough to travel around this great country of ours and eat dessert. A lot of dessert.

It's the best first world problem a gal could have...

While I am eating my way through state to state, I have had a lot of donuts. A lot of donuts. There are many, many, many donut places all through out 'merica. But there is one place that is so good, I feel like this place is my boyfriend, no my Romeo, in the world of donuts. This place is called Top Pot and there are a couple of locations in Seattle. www.toppotdoughnuts.com.

They pride themselves on making hand-forged doughnuts and you should pride yourself on doing whatever you need to do to get to this place and try everything. I mean it. Get one of everything. Because the fine folks at Top Pot realize that dough is a living thing, they know just how to take care of it and make some life changing doughnuts, I mean it. Life changing. Once you have a doughnut this good, you'll understand what I mean. Notice the spelling, they even spell their doughnuts with "dough" to give mad respect to said dough...

I have a pretty fierce love affair with their maple bars and I am not the only one. Legend has it that a pro-athlete from some sports team in Seattle (don't ask me who or what team, I follow food not sports) broke into a Top Pot just to get one of the maple bars. Don't judge, you would do the same if you've had one or after you have had one.

Their pink feather donut, would be me if I was a donut. If ever a donut was a fashion gal about town, it is their pink feather boa donut, its a cake donut with pink icing and sprinkled with coconut. When you bite into this gem of a donut, the soft, yet sturdy cake doughnut is a great vehicle to get the pink icing studded with coconut into your gullet. As always such a lady.

If you are fortunate enough to start your day with one of these beauties, you are bound to have a damn fine day. Indeed.
